Quentin R. Youmans, MD is a Chief Fellow in the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate education at Brown University where he was an Honors graduate with a concentration in Human Biology. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and internal medicine residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University where he served as a Chief Medical Resident for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He will earn a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation degree from Northwestern University, The Graduate School in May of 2021. Dr. Youmans is a clinician, educator, and researcher with a passion for health equity, mentorship, and promoting diversity in medicine. His work highlighting racial disparities and bias in medical education has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, and the Annals of Internal Medicine among others. He is the recipient of several local, regional, and national awards including the Susan Perlman Award from McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University given to the senior resident who best demonstrates academic excellence, special leadership skills and compassion for patients; the Dr. John E. Franklin Commitment to Diversity Award; and the American Medical Association Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award. He will pursue further fellowship training in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology where his research focus will center on the social determinants of health in heart failure and community engaged research for heart failure prevention and optimization of treatment.
