Dr. Mason has authored several publications in peer-reviewed media. She has been an invited lecturer, workshop instructor, and abstract presenter at numerous state and national scientific meetings. She has received two of her institution’s most prestigious awards: Rising Star and Fulbright/Jaworski’s Faculty Excellence Award. An accomplished pianist and violinist, Dr. Mason is the first African-American to win Mississippi’s Junior Miss in the program’s 65+-year history.
