Jose F. Figueroa, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an Associate Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he now works as a Hospitalist and the Director of the BWH Residency Management & Leadership Program. His research focuses on evaluating the needs of high-cost, complex, and vulnerable populations, including racial and ethnic minorities, the frail elderly, people with disabilities, and people with serious mental illness. His work also focuses on evaluating the effect of national health policies on health outcomes and costs, with a specific interest in how they affect institutions that disproportionately care for vulnerable populations.
