Lodriguez Murray

Lodriguez V. Murray is a Washington, D.C. advocate, policy educator, and lobbyist. Lodriguez began his service at the Health and Medicine Counsel of Washington in 2006 as a legislative assistant, rose to legislative director, and is now the senior vice president, where he has supervisory responsibility at HMCW. Lodriguez represents or has represented many of our nation’s Historically Black Academic Health Centers, including Meharry Medical College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and Howard’s health colleges. In addition, Lodriguez also represents the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools (AMHPS), an organization of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) which award doctoral degrees in the health professions; the National AHEC Organization (NAO); the National Council for Diversity in the Health Professions (NCDHP); and Zimmer, Inc.’s initiative “Movement is Life.”

Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Lodriguez always had an interest in government and politics. After graduating from Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA) in 2004, he interned in the office of the late Rep. Charles Whitlow Norwood, Jr., D.D.S. Hired full time by the Congressman, Lodriguez served as his special assistant, accompanying the Congressman in all of his official duties in Washington, home in the district, and abroad.
