Jack Tsai, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who believes in using science to improve the lives of disadvantaged people. Dr. Tsai serves as Core Investigator for the VA New England MIRECC, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for the Yale School of Medicine, and Co-Director of the Yale Division of Mental Health Services Research. Dr. Tsai grew up in Taiwan and California, receiving his B.A. from Pitzer College and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. In his work, Dr. Tsai has been awarded federally funded grants and published over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles on topics related to homelessness, severe mental illness, trauma, and health disparities. He currently holds leadership positions in the American Psychological Association, the American Public Health Association, and the Taiwan Psychology Network. He serves on the editorial board of several journals and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Social Distress and the Homeless. Aside from these activities, Dr. Tsai provides clinical services to veteran with posttraumatic stress disorder and teaches students, interns, resident, and fellows at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, Yale University, and surrounding universities.
