Sashi Moodley, MD, MBA, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and the Chief Clinical Officer of U.S. Healthcare for Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA). In this role, Dr. Moodley is accountable for the overall care model and clinical programs delivered under WBA’s U.S. Healthcare segment and has responsibility for designing, building and deploying new, innovative care delivery models. Prior to joining WBA, Dr. Moodley served as the National Vice President Medical Director at CareMore and Aspire Health (Anthem/Elevance Health), where he led care model design, clinical innovation and population health and oversaw home-based care delivery, including complex, acute and palliative care. While at CareMore, he built and scaled an innovative hospital-at-home program, focused on providing hospital and skilled nursing facility level care to seniors in the comfort of their homes. With a net promoter score in the 90s, measurable improvement in emergency room and hospital utilization and a reduction in total cost of care, the program quickly scaled to become one of the largest in the country at the time. Dr. Moodley earned his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Columbia University, his Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, in Boston. Dr. Moodley grew up in South Africa and immigrated to the U.S. during his undergraduate years. He has also lived in Canada and the United Kingdom. He currently resides in Southern California with his wife and two children.
