Muthuramanan “Ramana” Rameswaran is an associate attorney at Katten, who has practical experience inside the health care and pharmaceutical industries as an attorney, scientist, and healthcare provider. Ramana helps clients throughout these industries on a range of regulatory, transactions, investigatory, and compliance-related matters. His clients span the health care and pharmaceutical industries, and include hospitals and health systems, physician organizations, medical device suppliers and manufacturers, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.
Ramana has practiced health care law in both DC and Pennsylvania. He began his legal career in-house at Temple University Health System and at a specialty chemical company. Before attending law school, Ramana attended Temple University School of Medicine and completed course work and clinical rotations towards an MD degree. He also has worked at Merck Sharpe & Dohme, making measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.
Ramana currently serves on the Governing Council of the American Bar Association's Health Law Section as a Young Lawyer Representative. He is also an Eagle Scout, a former Chief Officer at Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, a suburban-Philadelphia 911 emergency medical services provider, and an award winning EMS instructor, with a true passion to help first responders. Ramana lives in DC with his wife, Rajeswari.
