After finishing his residency at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH (where he served as a Chief Resident), Dr. Deshmukh started his career as a geriatric and addiction psychiatrist in a rural area of Central Florida. He got triple board certified in general psychiatry, addiction medicine, and integrative holistic medicine. He also became a certified psychotherapist in psychoanalytic and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy.
To counteract the health disparities in elderly patients in nursing facilities and addiction patients in general communities, he co-founded a company, Balanced Wellbeing LLC, where he is now serving as the CEO and the Medical Director. Using effective leadership, administrative, research, clinical, and teaching skills and spirit of community service, Dr. Deshmukh became a health care leader, expanded work area of Balanced Wellbeing LLC exponentially over a short period of time. Today, the team of Balanced Wellbeing LLC is serving over 300 patients daily at over 100 facilities throughout various counties improving the mental health care of thousands of geriatric and addiction patients, most of them live in remote rural areas of Central Florida.
Dr. Deshmukh innovated a novel and effective method of health care delivery that is now shaping a new model of mental health care. His work has been recognized by various reputed local and national organizations, scientific journals, publishers, medical conferences, and pharmaceutical, research and health care companies. Being a national speaker for various companies and nonprofit organizations, he travels extensively and presents at various meetings and conferences throughout the nation educating attendees on current mental health problems and their effective and affordable solutions. In 2019, Dr. Deshmukh was invited to speak at NMQF summit where his presentation was very well received. Being a meditation trainer and advocate, he also volunteers at least 5 hours every week for the benefit of the community.
