Che Smith, PhD is a biostatistician and data scientist whose mission is to increase the data literacy among health professionals and the general public. As the founder and CEO of Advance Analytics, Dr. Smith leverages her background in mathematics and biostatistics to help business and academic professionals translate their research questions into actionable data solutions. Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has deliberately sought collaborations with minority professionals and committed to working on initiatives to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities. Prior to founding Advance Analytics, Dr. Smith worked as a Mathematical Statistician at the US Food and Drug Administration, reviewing statistical aspects of oncology and hematology drug applications and providing advice to companies throughout the drug development process. She has also worked with several local and state health departments on strategies to integrate data across disease and program areas to improve HIV and STD health outcomes among minority populations. Originally from Atlanta, GA, Dr. Smith attended Spelman College where she graduated with honors with a degree in Mathematics and earned a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health.
