Adolfo G. Cuevas, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor and Director of the Psychosocial Determinants of Health lab at Tufts University. Employing social and community psychological theories, Dr. Cuevas investigates the intersection of race/ethnicity, psychosocial stressors, and health-related outcomes in multiple social contexts (e.g., community, health system). He has recently received support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Cancer Disparities Research Network to investigate the biobehavioral pathways linking psychosocial stress and overweight/obesity among Hispanic/Latinos and Black Americans. Dr. Cuevas received his Ph.D. in Applied Social and Community Psychology from Portland State University. He attained additional training as a cancer prevention postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (2015-2017).
