Crystal Aguh, MD FAAD is an Assistant Professor, Director of the Ethnic Skin Program, and Director of the Alopecia clinic at Johns Hopkins Department of Dermatology. Dr. Aguh completed her residency training at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, serving as the chief resident in her final year. Her clinical research focuses on understanding the molecular basis for Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA), a permanent form of hair loss that affects black women almost exclusively. She is the co-editor of the textbook "Fundamentals of Ethnic Hair-The Dermatologist's Perspective”. She has delivered both national and international talks about her research and the importance of hair health in preventing and treating common forms of hair loss in women. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and earned her medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
