Camille Pope, PharmD, RPh is the Chief Medical Lead at Acclinate, a digital healthcare company that leverages community engagement and trust-enabling technology to improve clinical trial diversity. Dr. Pope uses her 15+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience to develop Acclinate’s medical strategy and lead medical communications between Black and Brown community members, research sites, and pharmaceutical industry/healthcare partners. She also contributes market intelligence to help further develop the company’s platforms and services. Prior to joining Acclinate, Dr. Pope exceled in Medical Affairs roles at AstraZeneca (AZ) where she served as US Medical Oncology Lead for prostate, pancreatic, and breast cancers, and Abbvie where she served as a Senior Medical Science Liaison for HIV and hepatitis C.
Dr. Pope is passionate about fostering workforce diversity and striving for health equity through inclusive research. At AZ, she co-led a clinical trial diversity working group, as well as established new fellowship and scholarship programs to help HBCU students gain experience in pharmaceutical industry. She currently serves on the Industry Pharmacists Organization’s Diversity Team and continues to champion mission-driven projects focused on bringing clinical trial opportunities to communities that have been historically underrepresented in biomedical research through her work at Acclinate.
Dr. Pope is a DC Metro Area native. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and completed a Post-Doctoral Medical Strategy Fellowship with Bristol-Myers Squibb/Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships. She earned her graduate certificate in Health Disparities Research from the University of Illinois Chicago.
