Eloho Ufomata, MD, MS, FACP

Eloho Ufomata, MD MS is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM). She was born in Benin City, Nigeria, and earned her medical degree at the University Of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr Ufomata completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), followed by an Academic Clinician Educator Scholar fellowship, with an area of concentration in women's health. She earned a master's degree in Medical Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Ufomata serves as an Advisory Dean at UPSOM and the Social Medicine thread leader for the curriculum. Her focus is on creating an environment of belonging for all trainees, including those of diverse backgrounds, and incorporating themes of anti-racism, equity, and inclusion in medical education. She has been recognized for her achievements in medical education and was awarded the UPSOM Outstanding Early Career Educator Award in 2018 and awards for the Outstanding Professional Enrichment Course in 2019 and 2021. Dr. Ufomata received the ‘Golden Apple award’ which is presented to the faculty member who has contributed most to the educational experience as voted on by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Class of 2021. In addition, she received the prestigious Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty Award, presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, which recognizes a faculty member who serves as a role model for humanistic behavior. Clinically, her areas of expertise include Primary Care, Women's Health, and LGBTQI health. She is the founder and Co-Director of the Center for Gender Affirming Care at UPMC.
