Dr. Salcedo is the Director of Community Health and a practicing pediatrician at Union Community Health Center in Bronx, NY. Her passion for obesity prevention led her to spearhead the Healthy Beverage Zone (HBZ), a borough-wide initiative aimed to decrease sugar-sweetened beverage consumption among worksites across the Bronx. The HBZ initiative has successfully fostered collaboration among multiple stakeholders in promoting healthier lifestyles. Dr. Salcedo received her medical degree and Master of Public Health from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

After medical school, Dr. Salcedo became a Fulbright Scholar where she conducted research and published work on the perceptions of obesity in Spain. Subsequently, she completed her residency in Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center. During residency, she was selected as a New Century Scholar for the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) while also serving as Chair of the Council of Residents and Board Member of the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA). Dr. Salcedo continues her dedication to strengthening leadership and professional development for young physicians as the National Chair, of the NHMA Council of Young Physicians, and as an Executive Committee Member of the Section of Early Career Physicians in the American Academy of Pediatrics.
