Alecia Nero, M.D., F.A.C.P. is an Assistant Professor in the departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Division of Hematology-Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Nero is the Medical Director of the Sickle Cell Day Treatment Program at this institution. With her dual appointment, she also leads the Sickle Cell Transition Program between the medical center’s Pediatric and Adult clinics.
Dr. Nero earned her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at University Hospitals Case Medical Center/Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She remained at that institution for her hematology fellowship. Dr. Nero’s clinical and research interest is in non-malignant hematology with her specific focus on sickle cell disease in both children and adults.
